This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of Lake Superior
and the Nearshore waters of western Lake Superior.

.DAY ONE...This afternoon and Tonight

Thunderstorms will continue through tonight. A few strong to
severe storms will be possible through 11 PM this evening with
winds in excess of 45 knots.

Northeasterly winds gales this afternoon and tonight with a Gale
Warning in effect.

Areas of dense fog are expected through tonight with a Dense Fog
Advisory in effect.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday

Northeasterly gales early Wednesday will veer through southeast
to southwest for Wednesday. A Gale Warning remains in effect for
most of western Lake Superior through Wednesday.

...DENSE FOG ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 3 AM CDT
WEDNESDAY...

* WHAT...For the Gale Warning, west winds 20 to 30 kt with gusts
  up to 40 kt and waves 6 to 9 ft. For the Dense Fog Advisory,
  dense fog will reduce visibility to less than 1 NM.

* WHERE...Two Harbors to Duluth MN and Duluth MN to Port Wing WI.

* WHEN...For the Gale Warning, until 7 PM CDT Wednesday. For the
  Dense Fog Advisory, until 3 AM CDT Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Strong winds will cause hazardous waves which could
  capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility. Low
  visibility will make navigation difficult.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Mariners should alter plans to avoid these hazardous conditions.
Remain in port, seek safe harbor, alter course, and/or secure the
vessel for severe conditions.

If you must navigate, proceed with caution. Use proper fog
signals. Make sure all running lights are on. Remember to use
your radar and compass.
